Only Three Premier League Stars Named in 2025 FIFPRO World XI

FIFPRO World XI 2025 - Premier League players - This year’s team, voted for by over 20,000 professional footballers from 68 countries, features just three players from the English top flight — two fewer than in 2024.

Liverpool captain Virgil van Dijk is the only Premier League player to retain his place in the side, anchoring a three-man defence.

He is joined by Chelsea’s Cole Palmer and Manchester City goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma — although it’s worth noting that much of Donnarumma’s success came during his time with Paris Saint-Germain last season.

In front of Donnarumma, PSG full-backs Achraf Hakimi and Nuno Mendes complete the defensive line alongside Van Dijk.

Another PSG star, Vitinha, features in midfield alongside Palmer, while England’s Jude Bellingham (Real Madrid) and Barcelona’s Pedri round out the quartet.

Up front, the attack is a formidable trio of PSG’s Ousmane Dembélé, Real Madrid’s Kylian Mbappé, and Barcelona prodigy Lamine Yamal.

At just 18 years old, Yamal makes history as the youngest-ever player to be selected for the FIFPRO Men’s World XI — breaking Mbappé’s 2018 record, when the French forward was named at age 19.

Unsurprisingly, the starting XI is dominated by PSG players, following the club’s long-awaited Champions League triumph last season.

By contrast, the 2024 FIFPRO World XI was filled with Real Madrid stars after their European success, alongside several Premier League names including Ederson, Van Dijk, Kevin De Bruyne, Rodri, and Erling Haaland.

Since its inception in 2005, the FIFPRO World XI has remained the only global football award decided entirely by professional players.
