A final-year student of the Akenten Appiah Menka University of Skills Training and Entrepreneurial Development (AAMUSTED) has been stabbed to death for allegedly stealing a bag at Bantama in the Ashanti Region.
According to eyewitnesses, the student, believed to be in his late twenties, was stabbed after an elderly woman accused him of stealing her bag and subsequently reported him to her 30-year-old boyfriend, according to a report by myjoyonline. com
The situation led to an altercation between the two men after the deceased refuted the allegations.
According to reports, the events leading to the death of the student, known popularly as ‘Gye Nyame’, occurred on Sunday, September 1, 2024.
The scuffle between the two unfolded for several days and ended in a bloody clash on Tuesday, September 3, 2024, when the student was stabbed in the head.
The death of the student followed unsuccessful attempts by community leaders to stop the fight.
Meanwhile, the suspect has been arrested by the police.
